Nora Bernard

Film. Festivals. Production. Events.

As a born and bred New Yorker, naturally I began my journey as a volunteer for the Tribeca Film Festival. Eventually working my way up to management positions and was bitten by the “festival circuit” bug. I decided to pursue a career working around the country for festivals that also include the Sundance, Tribeca and Telluride Film Festivals. In the past 3 years, my work experience has covered production, venue operations, events, logistics, sponsorship, talent relations, volunteer coordination and ticketing. I am proud to say that I have combined two of my affections, Cinema and Travel, into a career.

I would like to bring the enthusiasm that I have for film festivals into film theory, criticism and artist development. I’m ardent in learning the landscape of the film industry and eventually creating initiatives to include diverse voices not only in filmmaking but also in film criticism and reporting.

Outside of film, I am hiker, a “yogi-in-progress”, a New York Yankees fan, a museum enthusiast and a 120mm film photographer. I am working on reading more books than I usually do and reading less think pieces. I am also impatiently waiting on Rihanna's new album. I can tell you where to get the best pizza and bagels in the city. My favorite city outside of home is Telluride, Colorado.

Oh yes, and the answer that regularly asked question? My favorite film is Alfred Hitchcock’s Notorious.
