Gondola
Rainbow Over Ghost Town

So this past summer has been my 3rd in Telluride and definitely my favorite thus far. As every year goes by I get better at having a better work/life balance when I'm out there. As I return home, I get an intense case of nostalgia of the incredible summer that I have but still feeling like I didn't get quite enough in. Nevertheless, I managed to come up with a list on some of my favorite things within this town.

Favorite Hiking Trail: The Jud Wiebe Trail. Tough but not too tough and you can see the whole beautiful town.

What to Listen to: KOTO Community Radio 91.7 and 89.3 (and the TuneIn App).

Favorite Summer Activities: Festival Weekends! I work for Film Fest but boy are Jazz Fest and Blues and Brews are a treat!

Favorite Free Activities: There's nothing like taking a solo Gondola ride by yourself up to Mountain Village and back. Also taking a stroll along San Miguel River Trail...and possibly soaking your feet.

Favorite Place to Get Coffee: The Coffee Cowboy. If it's a little too chilly outside, there is the (fairly new) Ghost Town Grocer which sits in front of a fantastic mural. If you want to be a little more isolated, then there is a coffee shop in the back of the book store called Between the Covers.

Favorite Place to Get Drinks (affordable): The Cornerhouse Grille. They also have daily food specials, Trivia Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, and Karaoke Wednesdays.  I also love the Sheridan Rooftop Bar.

Favorite Place(s) to Get Drinks (Pricy): Allred's and La Marmotte

Favorite Restaurants: Siam (Thai Cuisine), The Butcher & The Baker Café and Taco Del Gnar (the most insane Tacos I've ever had!)

Favorite Happy Hour Specials: La Marmotte (1/2 price appetizers and $8 glasses of wine between from 5pm-6pm) and Siam's Porch Menu (a more affordable limited menu with live music)

Favorite Place to Visit Outside of Town: Big B's Fabulous Juices and Ciders In the Summer Time, it's Peach Season and they have the most fabulous juices and hard ciders.

So before I went to Los Angeles, I returned to Utah to work the Sundance Directors, Screenwriters and Documentary Edit Lab. I have to say it was one of the most incredible experiences in my life and I wasn't even one of the fellows! Here are some of photos of my time there:

Obligatory Rock Shot! My home for about a month and a half!

I would hike up here every morning (in the beginning at least). Just so I could see this view. I have the scars from tripping a couple times to prove it! (Gotta get hiking books!) The earlier, the better for the best view of the rainbow.

One day I hiked even further and got this view!

What a beautiful horse. Didn't get a chance to ride a horse but glad I got to the stables.

My first taste of In-N-Out was not in Los Angeles but in Salt Lake City, Utah! (Shhhh...I like Shake Shack better!)

And I concurred my (occasional) fear of heights and tried the brand new zip-line at the resort, busted hand and knee all.

On a side note: Because this has been such a remarkable, motivating experience for me, I am going to start going back to posting more posts about films including film reviews. Usually when I am busy working a film festival, it can get overwhelming for me. However, right now I am at a downtime (freelance life) and I feel like this is this the perfect opportunity to get some work done and get to why I started this site in the first place. Wish me luck!

My first time in Los Angeles

Hello, It's been a while! After Tribeca, I went to work for the Sundance Summer Labs at the Sundance Resort in Utah. After the end of the labs, I decided to visit to Los Angeles because I've never been there before. Here is a brief summary of my Los Angeles..in pictures of course.

The beautiful Manhattan Beach!

Visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I was surprised how vast it was the diversity of the stars.

On the contrary, the TCL (formerly Grauman's) Chinese Theater was surprisingly small.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the LACMA! Out of the many incredible museums I've been to (The Met, The Moma, The Uffizi Gallery, the Vatican Museums), I would definitely put this up there.

Then what is it then... ;-)
